Here’s a little book I stumbled on in a dressing room (of all places!) on our last date night.
I knew my 40-year-old brain wouldn’t remember the title, so I snapped a photo of it. I love the title and the cover.
I’ll see a crazy week on the calendar and I know we’ll be headed for trouble – misunderstandings, craziness, crabbiness.
Busy days do not create connection.
One of the best things The Engineer and I do to stay happy is to consciously – VERY consciously – schedule to spend time alone together. Last week, we had supper alone at a restaurant on Wednesday night. We reconnect and unwind together. We talk about how we are surviving the week and what we need to do to make it through Saturday night.
I love that we have regular date nights – at least once a week – and that we are teaching our children that it is important for Mom and Dad to have regular time alone. It’s far and away our best ritual for happiness and it took us a long time to realize how important it truly is.
To Date Nights.
Here’s us from last week!
