Emma as American Girl Josephine

Emma tried acting in a few plays this summer.  She was in Beauty in the Beast, Annie Jr., and an original play about the American Girl series. She really enjoyed these experiences.

In this post, I share some photos of her performance as Josephine in the American Girl play and a video of her performance.

Emma as American Girl Josephine

Emma participated in a week-long theater workshop and performed the American Girl role of Josephine.  Her director wryly observed that she had cast a blonde blue-eyed girl to play the part of an Hispanic immigrant in New Mexico in 1824.  That’s why they call it acting, baby!

Here’s Emma wearing makeup!  I think her eyes looks so striking.

Here’s the photo after using on of my favorite apps on my iPad called Vintique.

Learning to speak with a Spanish accent was initially frustrating for Emma.  When she was about to give up rehearsing after supper one night, Will helped turn things around when he chimed in:

“Did Jim Carey ever give up?

Did Will Ferrell ever give up?

Did Tim Allen ever give up or Eddie Murphy?

No. No, they didn’t. In fact, Bruce Willis never gave up and he nearly died three times!“.

I guess family movie night is having a bigger impact than I thought.

Without further ado, her performance…
