Emma turned 12 this week. She’s changed so much this past year. She finished her first year at Parnassus (5th grade), got braces and glasses, and really started nurturing her passion for cooking.
She also planned every detail of her birthday party. She made her own invitations, mailed them to her friends, made her own birthday cake (Recipe Girl’s Cookie Dough Brownies) and planned all of her activities. She made handouts for her guests and had a questionnaire for them called How Well Do You Know Emma? Yes, she’s growing up.
We gave her a jewelry box, headphones and a cookbook for her birthday. The little jewelry box has a lock (she loved that feature) and a little ballerina spins to Swan Lake.
She loved her new cookbook. The Better Homes and Gardens New Junior Cookbook has great photos and awesome kid-friendly recipes.
The only thing Emma wanted from her little brothers is that they would cooperate with her in creating a play and then videotaping it. Here she is showing Phil her masterpiece featuring her brothers…
That’s Emma’s 12th Birthday in a nutshell. Enjoy the video!
