The exterior of the 2016 Bachman’s Spring Ideas House had some really beautiful planters this year.
My favorite container was this vintage metal trough which was repurposed into a large planter box.
The Spring containers continued to incorporate some birch material. It’s so great to think about birch as a more year-round container element and not just something for holiday planters.
This container shows some of the top elements of the classic Spring planter.
Those pom-poms are just so eye-catching – a little echo of winter snow – but also so very Springy with their bright green stems. (Btw – All of the stems are artificial).
Emma took this wider shot. The birch really helps to offset the artificial and is a visual reminder of the change in seasons.
I have such a love for window boxes. This one has to be nearly 10 feet long. Again, all the material is artificial.
The window box marries stems from the vintage trough and the planters. I think the cooler colors work well against the background color of the house.
These examples provide great inspiration to dress up your outdoor containers with some artificial stems right about the start of Lent.
Note: The Bachman’s Spring Idea House 2016 is open through April 17, 2016.
