Fall Idea Notebook

Each Fall, I love throwing the kids in the car and heading to local nurseries for decorating ideas. After years of dragging out the same tired ol’ things for Fall, it’s how I keep my seasonal decorating fresh and easy – from simple touches like Fall ribbons, over-sized baskets, and butcher block paper table runners.  Here’s some photos that made my Fall Idea Notebook this year.

Small pumpkins take on a grander look grouped together over a bed of straw. This was the perfect spot for some Fall photos with the kids.

It’s tough for me to resist cheese boxes. They come in handy for storing all sorts of things.

Look how beautiful a small bunch of cut birch can look wrapped with ribbon…

I bought a few of these jars back in May. I was thrilled to find them on clearance this October.

I’ve taken to hanging art out on the front porch. Wooden pieces like this one are perfect for that space.

These large round basket trays are just $25 at Tonkadale. I had Emma take this picture with them next to my boots so you can get an idea of the scale of these lovelies.

Serving Baskets

Tonkadale used them as tray toppers on iron work planters and as a Fall centerpiece.

The power of burlap!  I have rolls of it in the garage for uses just like this…

John and Emma had fun with the Fall cutout at Dundee Nursery.

We ended our Fall Idea Tour at a restaurant that had butcher block paper and crayons on the table for the kids. I’ll be using this idea for my November table runner – it’s perfect for a month of Thanksgiving!Coloring on Butcher Paper
