For me, there’s nothing better than spending a Saturday morning at a nursery soaking up some Fall Inspiration.
This Fall, Tonkadale nursery in Minnetonka is offering a fall workshop series through the end of October. It’s such a treat to grab some garden zen and Fall inspiration in time for the weekend.
The mums at nurseries are so robust and healthy. The isles are full of endless color combinations – only nurseries carry this level of mum diversity.
The planters are stunning. I love seeing the gourds, pumpkins and seed pods incorporated into containers.
In the photo above, Kalanchoe, originally from Africa, offer such vivid blooms. The Chinese call them “thousands and millions of red and purple“.
Creeping Jenny is a favorite no matter the season.
I bought one of the chalkboards in the photo below. Did I really need another chalkboard? Hmm. Yes. I did. 🙂
These are some of my favorite Fall fake flowers…
The markings and imperfections on the pumpkins are what makes them so fantastic.
Incorporating hot pink into your fall decor is really big this year. These mums could pass for Spring blooms.
The more scarred the pumpkin, the more I love it.
Check out the leaves on this honey…
Here’s a little pumpkin hiding in an ironwork planter. Piling the pumpkins in something like this helps elevate them and repurposes those outdoor plant stands after you’ve thrown out your summer baskets.
Love the deep purple and the birch. I’ll be heading into our woods soon to start gathering branches for my containers.
Remember, they don’t have to be orange to look great for Fall.
I’d take this guy – warts and all…
So clever – fall leaves and a croton. Love this combination.
Hot pink again…
These guys look so good – like they’ve been given a chalk paint treatment. Nature’s beauty is hard to rival.
Finally, my sentimental favorite… simple yellow mums.
There is something not only inspirational – but also so refreshing and healing – about spending time among the beauty offered by a great nursery.
