Traffic was awful and we got there late. But once we got there, the party started!
PJ’s grown a lot this summer. He shot right past size 14 and is now a 16/18 wearing a men’s 7 shoe. I thought he looked pretty big next to Mom today. He’s the one to watch for size. He’s on his way to third grade this fall.
John snuggled right by Grandpa today. He was negotiating all kinds of things, but mostly a sleepover for him and PJ.
I thought Johnny did a nice job taking a picture of us.
We had the kids huddle up around Grandpa & Grandma. This was such a great shot and then things started to get a little silly…
I love this corny one of my Dad. So this is 70…. Looks fun.
This was my favorite shot of the day.
This next series is Johnny asking Dad to go through his pockets. I love how he looks at him in the last shot.
Here’s what Will was up to…
Our newly minted 11-year-old and her new bracelet from Grandma.
We wrapped up by having our July birthday babies pose for us. In ten years, Dad is 80 and Emma will be 21.
These last three photos remind me of the ending of the children’s book Stellaluna. It’s about a little bat who ends up in a nest of birds and they become friends despite their differences. They wonder, “How can we be so different and feel so much alike?” It is a mystery. “But we’re friends. And that’s a fact.”
Happy Birthday Dad!
