I have a passion for cookbooks. I recently bought The Recipe Girl Cookbook by Lori Lange after seeing something amazing from her on Pinterest (sorry- can’t tell you what it is just yet!!). Anyway, the very first item I made from the cookbook was the Recipe Girl Butterfinger Brownies. Love!
If you have a special place in your heart for Butterfingers, the batter for this recipe before you add the chocolate is a creamy version of the orange crunch inside a Butterfinger. For this reason alone, I would recommend this cookbook…but then, I haven’t shared the other amazing recipe which makes me so admire Lori Lange.
Emma got the chocolate and the butter melted together nicely in the microwave. It went super quick because we processed the chocolate in the mini-prep first. After that, I think it only took 90 seconds in the microwave to get to this point.
**Note: The next part was the most difficult step. We had to unwrap the butterfingers and get them into the food processor.
These were the survivors of the unwrapping process. They look kinda sad in there, don’t they? The rest of them met with a more traditional demise.
Here’s what they looked like after the party…
I call this next photo “The Yin and Yang of Butterfinger Zen”
Our sweet Jess is home from college. Funny how she managed to get into the kitchen in time to help “clean” up the chocolate bowl. By the way, Emma is taller than her now!
We add half the crushed Butterfinger to the batter and save the rest for the topping.
All set for the oven – 30 minutes never felt so long.
They are awesome.
I’m sorry I didn’t get a picture of them out of the oven – they basically looked the same as when they went in. Somehow the photography duties got forgotten when these babies cleared the oven.
Here’s my recipe girl, Emma.
