Lemon Pudding Cake Marked on Cake Plate with Expo Marker 6ftmama blogResized

This weekend we did absolutely nothing. As PJ announced on Friday after school, “It’s Relaxation Weekend!”

No basketball tournaments.

No appointments.

No gatherings.

Just chilling at home.

Which was fine and dandy until I realized we had no food in the house on Sunday night. So, before I walked Sonny, we ran to the grocery store and I bought all the basics for breakfast Monday morning. Apparently, I was in a lemony frame of mind because I couldn’t resist this lemon pudding cake.

I like put baked treats on a glass cake stand with a dome lid and so that where the lemon pudding cake went when I got home. Only I didn’t want the kids to mangle the cake before realizing it has lemon in it – so I wrote on the glass dome with an expo marker.

I’m not sure that the little heart I drew will make them more adventurous to give it a try or not – but I had a slice with my coffee this morning and it was divine.

These expo markers make it so easy to write on glass surfaces and they don’t etch the glass. To clean it, all you need to do is wipe it off with a wet rag.

Here is my affiliate link to the expo markers I order on Amazon – and just a heads up: they’re not cheap. I usually buy a pack about twice a year because I use them for absolutely everything – including our family calendar which is on a chalkboard in the hallway. Coffee shops use them all the time and that’s how I  first stumbled upon them.

I also cut up some lemons for the water jug.

We’re trying to drink more water around here and anything I can do to help the cause it is worthwhile.
