I immediately thought of the Danish book Smilla’s Sense of Snow when I walked into this bedroom.
The polka dots…
Such a cute idea – and soooooooo easy.
All they are – really! – is just peel and stick decals. So simple.
Can’t get any easier than that.
Don’t like the placement – just move ’em.
The background paint for the room was Hirschfield’s 470 Dreaming of the Day.
The ‘LOVE’ shelf was made from scrap pieces of wood. Such a clever idea.
The hook on the door to the room held a spring wreath.
Another hook was used on the closet door for scarves and jackets.
I thought the little mason jar fairy garden was a cute gift and DIY craft idea.
Hello Mr. Owl…
He is something, isn’t he?
I want him I want him I want him!
He’s definitely making it into my top 10 list from the Bachman’s Spring Ideas House. I want him in my family room for summer.
The owl motif was echoed in these little hanging gardens…
Each vase is a little owl…
Very cute window treatment, too. I love the simple touch added by the 1/2″ grosgrain tan ribbon.
The dresser also held a fairy garden terrarium.
The headboard was a simple sheet of faux tin ceiling panel. Ingenious. And, check out the polka dot bedside lamp.
Here’s a close-up…
The desk with message boards was a repurposed media cabinet.
Emma was absolutely enchanted with the room color and the polka dot decals.
I have a feeling we’ll be incorporating some ideas from Smilla’s Room when we update Emma’s room this summer.
Note: The Bachman’s Spring Idea House 2016 is open through April 17, 2016.
