Today, I’m sharing my insights and commentary on the beautiful gardens featured on Day Two of the 2016 Garden Bloggers Fling in Minneapolis. Day Two brought the garden bloggers to the western suburbs of Minneapolis where we visited gardens featured on the 2016 Carver-Scott Extension Master Gardener Garden Tour as well as other special venues that were even new to me. These gardens showcased great design principals as well as a few special tricks and tips that I found especially inventive and adaptable. Day Two was jampacked with gardens and the itinerary of each of the locations and all of the blog posts about Day Two can be found in the links below.Read More

It’s a rare gardener who: 1. loves rabbits, 2. co-exists with a mother groundhog nesting under the potting shed, 3. respects the right to life of black walnut trees, and 4. gingerly saves a dragonfly caught in a spider web. Indeed, Jen McGuinness just might be one of the most kind-hearted gardeners on the planet. With a gentle wit that winds it’s way into her posts on her blog, Frau Zinnie, Jen McGuinness is also a professional freelance photographer by trade. Frau Zinnie highlights Jen’s personal gardening experiences in Portland, Connecticut. She also has a lovely (and hilarious) Twitter presence you must follow!Read More
