Top of this Snowy-Blowy Morning to ya!
Here in lovely Maple Grove, we’re expecting another freezing arctic blast – and the kids are anticipating at least one additional cancelled day of school.
We’re at the point now where the schools are talking about extending the school year a few days to make up for all the cancellations. Ying and Yang strike again.
I had high plans for posting some 2013 highlights after Christmas, but of course, with all the celebrating and then the brutal cold – it just didn’t happen.
Anywho, I was feeling so full of vigor after just clearing the driveway of another 5 inches of snow (with some tremendous ice-chunky plowback that took an extra 20 minutes!) that I thought I’d get going on it this morning.
(Warning – a few of these might make you hungry and cause you to venture out to the nearest grocery store for ingredients…)
This is a good old fashioned dessert treat that’s easy enough to make with the kids (or with them underfoot!)

Few of us are lucky enough to have a mantle that is wider than a few inches. This post on how I expanded my own ledge with this easy, non-permanent DIY was a hit.
3. Leverage Bars (a.k.a. the Bars that will get your kids to do anything you ask!)
These were the massively easy and massively awesome Monster Cookie Bars that I discovered at my friend Diane’s house. Oh blessed day that was!
After experiencing the gambit of emotion, information and benefit from school conferences, I shared what I do today to make sure our conference experience is a success.
