I pay no attention to Punxsutawney Phil. My indicator that Spring is at hand comes from Tonkadale Nursery. When I get the Spring events email, I start scheduling the seminars on my calendar. (Tonkadale is located at 3739 Tonkawood Rd in Minnetonka, MN – off Hwy 7).
In this post, I share more about Tonkadale Saturday Seminars, as well as my own rites of Spring.
Six weeks later, on March 23, they wrap things up with their pansy planting party. By then, Spring is here. That means I’m putting together my spring containers with forsythia and dogwood. Tucking in nests among the winter wheat. Sweeping up the last needles from winter planters.
Nothing is as exciting to a gardener than the arrival of Spring. It’s the chance to take another crack at the ol’ garden. Plus, I’ve got pent up ideas and energy for my garden. I’m gonna stay ahead of the weeds this year. I’m going to skip petunias. I’ll move the grasses further south. I will split the hostas when they begin to peak through the mulch. Yes, it is an exciting time. I leave you with wishes for joyful Spring gardening and this sign that made the rounds last year.
