Something happened around 2am last night when I checked on the little boys. I straightened  John’s covers and kissed his forehead.

Across the room, PJ mumbled something like “What about me?

In this post I share a profound middle-of-the night exchange between me and my son…

I went over to PJ. I tucked him in, leaned close, kissed his forehead…and asked, “Do you know how wonderful you are?”

He smiled and said…”I am wonderful.”

And time stopped.  I just took in that moment with my sleepy little giant.  Him smiling, eyes closed, and telling me what his soul knows so well.  It was wonderful.

Wonderful PJ

I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.  Psalm 139:14

How precious, Jennifer! And He knew PJ before he was even formed in your womb. Special!

That brought tears to my eyes. I have three boys and a girl under 12. I treasure those sweet soulful words too. Especially when we spend our days giving so much love to them.

    Ruth, Kathy Anne & Sheila,
Thanks for your comments. I know it choked me up, too. That was one hug that was hard to break. I’m glad you all enjoyed.

I love how he asks for what he needs. He is not going to let you forget him. I love even more how you drank in the pure beauty of this gift. So much love circling there. Just love it.

What a beautiful story. He must have wonderful parents who let him know just how special he is all the time 🙂

    Suzanne, Jennifer, & Michele,
He is such a middle child. Always says what he needs and what is on his mind. He is a special blessing to our family.
