Still Growing Gardening Podcast
Hi everyone!
I’m excited to share that Still Growing… a weekly gardening podcast will be launching next month!
Creating My Podcast
I created Still Growing… because I love to listen to gardening podcasts myself. One thing I noticed, however, is that most of the shows I love are fairly short and I missed spending more time learning from the experts.
Still Growing… has always been my signature sign-off for my blog The View from Up Here. I thought it was the perfect name for a gardening podcast. I spent two weeks doing research for the show, lining up guests and gathering up audio equipment. During the last weeks in May, Phil was on a business trip and when he came back home, I had turned my office into a little recording studio. Over the summer, I’ll share more information about the equipment I purchased, what I love to use, and what got returned to Amazon :).
In future posts, I’ll share the resources I found to be the most helpful for setting up a podcast. Some folks are very generous and transparent about the things they do to create their podcasts. I couldn’t have gotten everything together so quickly without these on-line resources.
Show Format: Still Growing… Podcast
Still Growing… is designed to be an hour-long show. I’ll start the show with a 5 minute monologue which will include personal comments, insights, etc. which will be featured in my blog. Then, I will have an in-depth interview with an expert designed to help you and your garden grow. Finally, I’ll include out-takes and extras at the end of every show for anyone who wants to hear them. (Phil and I love movies and we especially love out-takes. The out-takes for Still Growing… are a great way for me to feature the reality behind the show; the bloopers, funny moments, sweet contributions from the kids, etc. I think it will add a nice personal touch to the show. Plus Grandma will listen all the way through if I feature the grandkids *wink* so I’m pandering a little here!)
Still Growing… Podcast: Guest Line-up
